As the global economy is showing signs of emerging from the slowdown, many charitable foundations are still finding it increasingly difficult to raise much needed funds. It is against this backdrop that Slavens & Associates Real Estate Inc. has chosen to continue its longstanding tradition of giving back to the community by supporting North York General Hospital’s BMO Breast Diagnostic Centre (BDC).
The BDC provides women and men with early diagnosis, supported by state-of-the-art medical imaging equipment, to allow patients to make informed decisions about treatment options. Approximately 1,300 new patients are seen in the centre each year.
On June 2, 2010 at Six Degrees, the Salespeople and Brokers of Slavens and Associates, with the support of their clients, friends and many generous companies from all across the city, will come together for an inspirational night of wining, dining, and dancing, while supporting a truly worthwhile cause that has affected so many of our mothers, sisters, daughters, and friends.
Proceeds from the event will help fund the purchase of a new Ultrasound machine. Ultrasound is a vital tool in breast imaging which is an essential part of diagnosis. This new machine will increase the BDC’s capacity for doing breast ultrasound, thereby reducing wait times as well as the amount of time these women and their families worry about their test results.
